Me and My good friend Steve went out fishing this day, it was a winterday and the Cumberland river had some good current, and I kinda went alittle to far down river and were in Kentucky, I thought Tn and Ky had a agreement, But later found out that I would have been in trouble if a game warden had been there. We found a area that was just outta the current and when I went over it with the boat you could see all kinds of biguns down there swimming around some form of stucture, This one weighed 47 LBs and he was the hardest fighting fish I have ever battled with,. we were both whooped after the battle.

It was a cold day back a few years ago, Me and My father was out on the Cumberland River, And We were sit up on a hole that me and Bryan Shrum had went over the week before and I told Bryan the week before that the place looked good on his Depth finder, We fished it and went on past it. However this day would prove to be one of the best day's that I have ever had on the Cumberland.. Me and Pop thru our lines out and just about ten minutes passed and I got a good run and pull in one that I guessed to be around 25 LBs. "My scales failed " I thru him back in and a few minutes later I get a good hit and When I went to set the hook , I drove it pretty hard and the pole came out of my hand and if not for a pole hanging off a rod holder on the side of the boat I would have lost him. I grabbed string and pulled the rod back in the boat and low and behold the fish was still on and he was a hoss.A 50 LBer, A few minutes later I get another good run and pull in another bigun, 34 Lbs. We fished alittle longer and decided that we better quit and get those fish to the bait store and get them back in the water, As we were bringing in the pole I had another big run, But missed him. Both of the fish were released and Swam away..........

A fishing trip With a Legend

Most people know him as KatJoe, "Joe Hall" I talked to Joe on the phone and we meant and become friends, I was completly fascinated with the pictures and some of the stories Joe told of some of his fishing trips, Joe is a Guide on the Cumberland river And is one of the top Catter's in the country. My self and Steve had spent many of day's fishing and looking for a big catfish, With no luck....So I worked out a deal with Joe and the trip was set, We meant up at a restaurant out on hgy 149 , I was pretty excited about going out fishing with a legend and also excited about catching a big catfish Joe assured me that the chances were good .

We arrive at the Boat ramp and Joe has this sour look on his face, He informs me that he has forgotten his fishing poles, Then a big smile comes over his face and he opens up the latch in the floor of his boat and there's around six fishing poles.

Just kidding with you Tom , Are you ready to go and get that Bigun. He Say's

15 minutes after we set up, I am wrestling with this 28 LBer, It was cold out there that day and we didn't spend a whole lot of time out there. Joe was willing to stick it out, But I had me a bigun and It didn't matter to me, I was froze

My first big Cat a 18 LBer

This picture means alot to me, When I started the hunt for a big catfish, Me and My good friend Steve were out fishing on the cumberland River and we didn't have any good bait, all of a sudden a school of skipjacks came close to where we were drifting. One of them jumps right into the boat with us I told steve we would cut him up and use him as bait. He wasn't that big and Steve told me to put the bait on my hook, shortly after I got a big hit and the fight was on and after the fight this is what I got a 18 LBer

This one was a fighter

I caught this 47 LBer on June the 9th,at nite
My Sister and her husband Bear went out with me and it was a slow nite, I reckon this was the only Bite of the nite. My Sister was amazed at the size of this fish,I don't think she had ever seen one this big..
